Join our team as a support worker, where you will play a vital role in creating the supportive and creative environment that will encourage our 30-year-old son with autism to achieve greater independence and confidence. This rewarding position involves providing personalised care and support tailored to his individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide encouragement and support to help him access the experience needed to carry out positive activities. Assist with daily routines and household tasks, including meal planning, shopping and cooking.
- Implement care plans in collaboration with his family, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Maintain clear and open communication with his family and team members to ensure consistent support and progress tracking.
- Drive him to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation.
- Monitor behavioral changes or challenges, providing positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Qualifications
- Energy, imagination and enthusiasm to develop and build upon his interests to provide lifelong activities.
- Experience working with children or young adults with special needs, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
- Patience, enthusiasm and imagination.
Pay: £101.68-£138.75 per day
