Responsibilities
- Operate HGV vehicles trailers and containers in compliance with legal and company standards
- Safely transport goods to designated destinations, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Load and unload cargo, adhering to safety protocols and weight limits
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with relevant driving experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with container and curtain siders vehicles or similar equipment
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and traffic regulations
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
- Commitment to safety standards and adherence to legal requirements
