We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join our dynamic and quickly growing team. This permanent position is ideally suited to an individual with a multi-drop delivery driving background who is used to a fast-paced distribution environment.
The Role
Based in the dispatch team at our Washington depot your main objective would be to deliver tyres and consumables to our customers across the North East region. As the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service and enhancing company brand is a big part of this role.
In this driver role you can expect your day to focus around the following duties:
- Multi-drop delivery driving.
- Driving a 3.5t LWB vehicle to complete up to 50 delivery drops per delivery run.
- Scrap collection and returns where necessary.
- Planning delivery routes and completing runs in a timely manner.
- Cash handling and invoice management using an iPhone and our bespoke apps.
- Keeping vans clean and in good condition.
- Adhering to company policies.
- Providing an excellent face-to-face customer service.
The Conditions
· Any offers made are subject to DBS and other relevant background checks.
· We carry out random and with cause drug and alcohol testing.
· A clean drivers’ licence is preferred but not required – DR10 offences or previous driving disqualifications are not accepted.
The hours
· 45.5working hours Monday – Saturday (1/2 day on a Saturday).
The Package
· £12.44, increasing to £12.52 after 12 months service.
· 20 – 22 days holiday (dependant on length of service) + public holiday entitlement.
