This is a fun position working with international teenagers who are in Cirencester on short English language courses.
Our autumn contract starts early September and continues until the end of October but there is opportunity to continue on an ad hoc basis into November and December.
As part of our activities team, your duties will include organising and running a variety of activities both at the school and in town, accompanying groups on excursions / at the airport etc and generally taking care of the students during their time at the school.
Applicants should have strong leadership skills but be good team players, show a mature attitude and be energetic and fun. Good local knowledge of Cirencester and the area is a strong advantage.
This is a position that will include some evening and weekend work.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure (we can organise that) and any gaps in your CV must be explained in full. References will be followed up. Training will be provided. Candidates are NOT required to speak a foreign language.
Responsibilities and Duties: The role includes:
- Taking groups of students on local excursions and to cities such as London, Oxford and Bath.
- Giving information to groups of students (applicants should be confident speakers)
- Ensuring the safety of the students both on and off the school site and to undertake a safeguarding role within the school.
- Setting up afternoon and some evening activities and running them with enthusiasm and clear instruction.
- The activity team also supervises breaks and lunch time, including running the school tuck shop.
- To occasionally meet groups from the airport (using our private hire coaches) and to communicate with the accommodation team in Cirencester to give an accurate arrival time.
Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience in the same or a similar field (in particular, working with teenagers) is a strong advantage but not essential. Due to the nature of the role, it is important that applicants have clear English language skills, particularly in a spoken capacity.
