Job Title: Dental Receptionist (Temporary Contract)Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice on a temporary contract of at least two months, with the possibility of an extension depending on service requirements.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the reception area. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming and positive first impression.
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using the practice management software, accommodating both patient needs and clinician availability.
- Verify patient information and process billing and payments accurately.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Answer telephone calls promptly, responding to enquiries, rescheduling appointments, and providing patients with essential information.
- Assist with general administrative duties, including filing, scanning, correspondence, and other reception tasks to support the smooth running of the practice.
- Coordinate with dentists, dental nurses, and other team members to ensure efficient patient flow and timely delivery of treatment.
- Monitor the reception area to ensure it remains tidy, organised, and welcoming.
- Handle patient queries and concerns professionally, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Support the practice team with additional administrative duties as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a dental reception or healthcare reception role is preferred.
- Experience using dental practice management software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and multitask effectively.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional, friendly, and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and practice management systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
