Green Cat Contracting is a Civil Engineering Contractor, based in Glasgow, specialising in Balance of Plant contracts to serve the Renewable Energy and Contracting markets.
We are recruiting for a Site Manager to join our team.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a young and growing civil engineering contractor based out of our Glasgow Head Office. The role of Site Manager will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work on projects of varying size and complexities including wind farms, hydroelectric projects and other renewable energy projects throughout the UK.
At present we have a good order book of projects in Scotland although we do work throughout the UK. Depending on workload and project requirements you could be moving between different sites around the UK on a daily basis or based on a large project full time for the duration of the work. The successful candidate will also be expected to work from our Glasgow office as required to help prepare for projects before work on site begins.
Key Responsibilities
· Managing and optimising the construction programme.
· Managing and minimising construction costs.
· Fostering and maintaining good working relationships with the Client and Clients’ Representatives.
· Leading, motivating and monitoring the site team and developing the strategy as required.
· Leading Safety Management on site for all activities, Suppliers and Subcontractors.
· Liaise with consultants and sub-contracts engaged in the project as required.
· Introduce improvements and innovation where appropriate to areas of your responsibility.
· Check drawings and specifications.
· Schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department.
· Ensure quality records are maintained as necessary to meet quality requirements.
· Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
· Liaise with other function/departmental managers.
· Prepare and evaluate Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works.
The Ideal Candidate
· Formal Qualification in Civil Engineering/Engineering/Quantity Surveying.
· Qualified to HND, BEng, MEng or equivalent level.
· SMSTS certification (or willingness to obtain)
· CSCS card
· First Aid at Work
· Site Experience 5 years minimum.
· Management Experience 2 years minimum.
· Willingness to undertake travel across the UK where appropriate.
· Must be eligible to work in the UK.
· Valid UK driving licence.
