Coffee Shop Assistant – Tiptree
Hours 9-16 per week, including 1 weekend day per week
Salary - £8.00 - £12.71

Our coffee shop usually seats up to 270 and is often full, meaning our front of house team play a vital role in the success of our business.
You may be working in our restaurant, or in our satellite Greenhouse café
Key duties
- Clear tables of crockery and cutlery, in a timely manner and keep all customer areas clean and tidy, including the floor
- Ensure the restaurant floor, condiment stations and hot pass remain stocked and clean at all times
- Operate industrial dishwashers, with the need to hand wash some items
- Operate washing machine and tumble dryer and keep washing up to date
- To collect, wash and store crockery, cutlery and catering utensils, ensuring a continued supply to the counter and the kitchen
- Take part in cleaning as required and maintain scrupulous cleanliness of all areas covered under your place of work
- Serve food to tables from the hot pass, with excellent allergen and dietary knowledge.
Your capabilities
- You are cheerful and have a smile, even when working under pressure!
- You are happy to talk to customers, with an approachable manner and be able to recognise when customers or colleagues need help or assistance
- You have good communication skills as well as being conscientious, enthusiastic and motivated
- You can follow instructions and retain information
- You must be able to bend, lift and carry items as required and sustain long periods of time on your feet
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- You will be required to work hours during college/university holidays, along with extra shifts during peak weekend days
- Excellent standard of English and Maths
Working with
- Report into the Front of House Managers
- You’ll work alongside chefs and Front of House Assistants
