Job Summary:
This role entails leading and managing a team of Specialist Outreach Workers that support care-experienced young people (16+) that are living within supported accommodation managed by Akela Future Living.
Each day within the role is different to the last. Ultimately, the aim of this role is to support the Registered Service Manager in ensuring that the service is constantly improving in all areas and ensuring that compliance to regulations and legislation is maintained, with the aim of giving young people within Akela Future Living homes the best possible experience, which leads to the best possible outcomes.
To be considered for this role, prospective employees must:
· Have an advanced understanding of looked-after young people
· Possess at least 1-years’ experience of direct-work with at-risk young people
· Possess at least 1-years’ experience in demonstrating the skills and experience in leading a team – Transferable experience may be accepted
· Be willing to provide a full, enhanced-DBS
· Be able to provide two acceptable references, one must be from the most recent employer
· Have completed a Level-5, accredited qualification in leadership and management for residential childcare / or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this
Key Tasks:
Main aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:
· Completing supervisions with staff
· Completing audits, such as:
· Quality assurance
· Property audits
· Staff audits
· Managing a budget
· Advocating for the needs of the team and the young people they support
· Advising on service delivery and service improvement
· Working in partnership with the Local Authority and external partners
· Leading the team during the absence of the Registered Service Manager
· Attending multi-disciplinary meetings
· Meeting stakeholders and the community
· Managing your own calendar
· Managing a caseload of young people
· Lone-working
· Sleep-ins and late-checks to properties may be required
