Warehouse Assistant / Driver
Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £32,700 – £34,200 per annum
Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant / Driver to join our established operations team in Basildon. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods, while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational accuracy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting warehouse functions alongside undertaking delivery responsibilities across Essex and Kent.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, check, and pack customer orders in preparation for dispatch
- Support customers with the collection of purchased goods, ensuring a professional and helpful service
- Receive, inspect, and book in deliveries from approved suppliers
- Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels, including stock replenishment and periodic stock takes
- Uphold high standards of warehouse organisation, cleanliness, and health & safety compliance
- Carry out timely and safe deliveries to residential, commercial, and construction sites
- Conduct daily vehicle and forklift inspections in line with company procedures
- Undertake additional duties as required to support operational efficiency
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to accurately identify and handle plumbing, heating, and bathroom products
- Strong communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach
- Competent in basic IT systems for order processing and stock management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Insurance restriction must be aged 30+
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a warehouse or stock control environment
- Experience driving commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of plumbing or merchant products
- GCSE (or equivalent)
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Participation in a Saturday rota as required
