About The Role
Kitchen Assistants perform a range of duties around the kitchen, including:
Cooking, washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
Using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters
Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans
Observing cooking times and correct temperatures

Responsibilities
To assist our elderly residents with all activities of daily living; this includes assisting with personal care tasks, dietary intake, mobility etc., whilst upholding choices and preferences and ensuring that dignity is always maintained.
Qualifications and skills
Work experience in a kitchen is advantageous. We are looking for people whose values and beliefs are fundamental to the true meaning of ‘caring’.
This Post will Require
Enhanced DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Rathgar Care Home.
