Safety Case production and management e.g. engineering changes, safety reports, periodic safety reviews (PSRs, PCSRs etc).
Hazard and Risk identification and assessment studies, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP.
Fault Studies
Internal and External Hazard assessments.
Deterministic Safety Assessments / Arguments (DSA)
Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA) including hazards PSA
Nuclear Licensing and Authorisations.
Integrating safety principles into engineering designs.
Structural Integrity design/assessment of nuclear related structures and components
The Role
The key responsibilities for this role are:
Delivering high quality technical work to support the demonstration that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Writing and reviewing of safety assessments and safety case documents.
Leading HAZID/HAZOP studies
Produce and check technical calculations and reports
Develop clear, logical, and well-structured technical arguments and justifications.
Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions.
Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties.
Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring junior team members (as appropriate).
Sharing of technical best practices across projects.
What You'll Need
Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
Proven experience in safety case management and/or delivery within an operational and highly regulated environment.
Knowledge of nuclear plant systems or structures, and associated design and assessment guidelines
Experience of executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
