We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dessert Maker to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a variety of delicious desserts, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a wide range of desserts, including cakes, pastries, puddings, and specialised sweet treats
- Follow recipes accurately whilst maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Ensure all desserts are prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dessert preparation area at all times
- Manage ingredient stock levels, ensuring freshness and proper storage
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of desserts during service hours
- Monitor quality control throughout the preparation process to uphold high standards
- Adhere to health and safety procedures within the kitchen environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or baking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to baking and dessert making
- Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a restaurant or bakery is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Creative flair for presentation and flavour combinations
- Organised with good attention to detail and time management skills
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
