Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Cook to join our vibra team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks tailored to young children’s dietary needs. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering strictly to food safety protocols and hygiene regulations
- Organize kitchen operations efficiently, including meal planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment after each use
- Assist in serving meals to children in a friendly and respectful manner, fostering positive eating habits
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure continuous availability
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies for individual children
- Support in laundry duties alongside staff
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience working with children’s nutrition needs is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff
- Previous experience in restaurant or catering environments, particularly those in the childcare sector or likewise is advantageous
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen workspace at all times
