As a Medical Laboratory Associate (MLA) in the field of Cytology at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. The work is fast-paced and hands-on, with real opportunities to grow. In This Role:

You will be working as a Cytology Laboratory Scientist/MLT, performing laboratory analyses and tests that are vital for the diagnosis of our clients' animals

You will use automated analysers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform tests that support veterinarians in diagnosing animal illnesses, injuries and diseases

You will culture for microbiology, prepare smears of fluids, and stain slides

You will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests, and for reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
What You Will Need to Succeed:

BSc in Biology/Biomedical Science/Animal Science/Zoology or equivalent

Experience working in a laboratory, including setting up, running and reading lab tests

Experience operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers) would be a plus

You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues

You concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely

You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility

Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and specific vision requirements (close, color, depth perception)

This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

This is a full-time (37.5 hr/wk) permanent position, with hours Tuesday – Saturday, 06:00 – 14:30 (hours will differ slightly during the training period; a flexible start time can also be discussed)
