Job Summary
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant in October, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a vibrant and efficient kitchen environment. In this role, you will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and assist with meal service to ensure a seamless dining experience. You will be expected to work weekends.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food and meal preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning dishes according to standards
- Support kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations, utensils, and equipment and helping the chef to do this
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Help with serving meals to customers in a courteous and efficient manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped during service
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment
- Support the chef during busy periods by performing various tasks to keep operations running smoothly
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety practices, and serving procedures
- Basic culinary experience that demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Reliable, detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to supporting kitchen operations
- Must have at least 1 year’s recent experience
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week
