Payroll Administrator

Reporting to: Group Payroll Manager
Overview
The Payroll Administrator will work closely with the Group Payroll Manager, providing essential support in managing multiple payrolls across the Greendale Group. This is a key role in supporting payroll and compliance, ensuring processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Checking and importing of weekly timesheets or variable pay for companies across the Greendale group. Liaising with line managers on missing or incorrect entries.
- Running of monthly payroll reports
- Payment of all salaries and wages, including PAYE, Pension and National Insurance Contributions in line with company deadlines.
- Processing of key payroll tasks for example tax code notices, salary deductions such as court orders, new starters, other payroll related amendments.
- Monthly Full Payment and Employer Payment Submissions to HMRC
- Act as the first point of contact for all payroll questions, concerns or issues, and as requested provide information on, for example, copies of P45 or P60.
- Monthly submission of pension information, including processing of opt out requests, additional voluntary contributions, or other amendments to pensions as required.
Other
- Checking of expense claims, including validation of claims and reimbursement in line with company policy.
- Undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be regarded within the nature of the post.
Skills / Competences / Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing, including pensions administration.
- Working knowledge of UK payroll.
- Experience working with pension providers and handling reconciliations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of GDPR and confidentiality when handling sensitive personal information.
- Good Excel skills.
- Previous experience working with Cascade Payroll (IRIS) beneficial but not essential.
Location: The role will be based at Greendale Group’s head office (EX5 1EW)
Hours: The role will be 24 hours per week. This can be spread over 3-4 days, to be discussed with candidate.
Salary: £18,000 per annum (FTE £30,000)
Pay: £18,000.00 per year
