The Clovelly Estate is seeking a competent, versatile, and hands-on builder to work on a variety of projects across residential and commercial properties, including Grade-listed buildings and other historic structures. What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out general repairs, maintenance, and improvements to estate buildings
- Work on both routine upkeep and larger renovation projects
- Helping to preserve and restore historic and listed buildings, with care and attention to detail
- Tackling a mix of building tasks, from carpentry to general construction, roof repairs, plumbing, masonry, plastering, and stonework
- Supporting the smooth running of the estate by keeping properties, facilities, and external areas in good order
- Managing your own workload day-to-day while collaborating with our small estate team on bigger projects
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience across a range of building trades and enjoys varied work
- Is practical, resourceful, and takes pride in doing a job well
- Can work outdoors in all weathers
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Can provide and use their own tools
- Has their own transport to commute to Clovelly
Note: The role requires walking up and down Clovelly’s famous cobbled High Street carrying tools and materials.
What We Offer
- Pay: £18 – £20 per hour (depending on experience)
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, no weekend or on-call work)
- Contract: 12-week self-employed initial contract with opportunity to secure a permanent employed role for the right candidate, and those who seek it
