Picdel Logistics is expanding its UK driver network and is seeking reliable, professional self-employed drivers for courier and vehicle transportation work.
We are recruiting for the following categories:
- Parcel and general courier drivers
- Food delivery drivers
- Medical courier drivers
- Trade-plate vehicle delivery drivers
- Car transporter drivers
Available work may include same-day, scheduled, local and long-distance assignments. The volume and availability of work will vary according to customer demand, location and driver suitability.
General Requirements
All applicants must:
- Be self-employed and responsible for their own tax and National Insurance obligations
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a full, clean and valid UK driving licence
- Provide a valid DVLA driving-licence check code when requested
- Have access to a reliable and roadworthy vehicle appropriate for the work undertaken
- Hold the correct insurance for their delivery or transportation activities
- Provide evidence of insurance, MOT, vehicle tax and other relevant documents
- Have a smartphone with reliable internet access
- Be punctual, professional and able to communicate effectively with customers and the operations team
- Handle customers’ property carefully and follow collection and delivery instructions
- Complete collection and delivery checks, photographs, signatures and other proof-of-delivery requirements
- Pass identity, right-to-work, driving-licence and compliance checks
- Inform Picdel Logistics immediately of any change to their licence, insurance, vehicle or right-to-work status
Parcel, Food and Medical Courier Drivers
Courier drivers must have:
- A suitable car, motorcycle or van
- Hire-and-reward courier insurance covering the type of deliveries undertaken
- Goods-in-transit insurance at an appropriate level
- Public liability insurance where required
- Suitable equipment for safely transporting parcels, food or medical items
- The ability to maintain cleanliness, security and appropriate handling standards
- Willingness to complete any required medical-courier, temperature-control, confidentiality or chain-of-custody training
Drivers must not undertake medical or temperature-controlled deliveries unless they have the appropriate equipment, insurance, instructions and authorisation.
Trade-Plate Vehicle Delivery Drivers
Vehicle delivery drivers must have:
- Valid trade plates and authority to use them
- Motor trade insurance covering vehicle collection and delivery
- Any other legally required or contract-specific insurance
- Experience inspecting vehicles and accurately recording their condition
- Confidence driving different makes, models, transmissions and vehicle types
- The ability to complete collection and delivery photographs, condition reports, mileage records and customer signatures
- A professional approach when dealing with dealerships, auction sites, businesses and private customers
Car Transporter Drivers
Car transporter applicants must have:
- A suitable transporter, recovery vehicle or towing vehicle and trailer
- The correct driving-licence entitlement for the vehicle and trailer combination
- Appropriate commercial motor, hire-and-reward and goods-in-transit insurance
- A valid MOT, vehicle tax and maintenance records
- A compliant tachograph where legally required
- Any required operator licence or other regulatory authorisation
- Safe loading, securing and unloading experience
- Suitable straps, equipment and safety accessories
- Knowledge of vehicle weight, towing, load-securing and working-time requirements
