We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Hire Controller to join our team and ensure the seamless coordination of hire services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Hire Controller, you will:
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, responding promptly to inquiries about plant and equipment hire.
- Manage bookings, ensuring the correct equipment is allocated to meet client requirements.
- Coordinate equipment delivery and collection schedules with drivers and site teams.
- Provide professional advice on equipment suitability, availability, and pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of hire agreements, equipment inventory, and schedules using our hire management system.
- Monitor the status of equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and servicing are scheduled.
- Resolve customer issues or complaints efficiently, maintaining our high standard of service.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support sales teams by identifying opportunities for additional services or repeat business.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the plant hire, construction, or equipment rental industry.
- Familiarity with plant hire equipment and operations is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using hire management software or similar systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of construction industry requirements and compliance regulations.

Hours of Work: 7.30am - 5pm
Salary: starting at £28,500 (DOE)
