Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment and machinery across our operations. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults using schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical knowledge.
- Perform repairs on various equipment, including excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to carry out repairs and modifications.
- Fabricate replacement parts or components as needed to restore equipment functionality.
- Carry out electrical work such as wiring, troubleshooting circuits, and implementing electrical repairs.
- Assist in assembly tasks during new equipment installation or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and other departments regarding repair status or technical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical repair, equipment maintenance, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding (MIG/TIG), soldering, and schematics interpretation.
- Electrical experience including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and component replacement.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in assembly and equipment repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
