About the Role
As our Cook, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals that our residents look forward to every day. You will work closely with the Home Manager and care team to ensure every resident receives meals that meet their dietary needs and personal preferences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, evening meals and desserts.
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies and modified texture (IDDSI) diets.
- Plan and prepare attractive, well-balanced menus.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Complete all food safety records and temperature checks.
- Manage stock, food ordering and minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, HACCP and Health & Safety requirements.
- Create a welcoming dining experience for residents and visitors.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (care home, hospitality or catering experience desirable).
- Knowledge of food hygiene and nutrition.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum).
- A caring, positive and friendly attitude.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team.
