Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic hospitality team at our new Afro-Caribbean inspired Britsh Pub. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately, and ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a lively environment where teamwork and attentiveness are valued. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. All positions are paid, including internships, and are suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry.
Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system or manually
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any special requests or dietary requirements
- Clear tables efficiently and prepare them for subsequent guests
- Handle payments accurately and provide receipts upon request
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including side stations and service areas
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including hygiene standards
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when handling orders and payments
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when required
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the industry
- Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen awareness is advantageous
