Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper / Cook to join the team at our 6-bed care home in Crewe. Duties:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to residents’ needs.
- Managing kitchen stock, meal planning, and food safety compliance.
- Ensuring all food preparation meets dietary requirements, including modified textures for individuals with dysphagia (training can be provided).
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home by dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Restock supplies such as cleaning materials to ensure operational efficiency.
- Laundry and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures.
- Follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment during all cleaning activities.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly to ensure timely repairs and uphold safety standards.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a hygienic environment.
Requirements:
- Understanding of dysphagia and texture-modified diets (advantageous).
- A passion for cooking and providing high-quality meals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
