Quality expertise. Practical Health & Safety. Real operational impact.
We are looking for an experienced QHSE Engineer to join Solsta and help us strengthen and develop a consistent approach to Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management across our operations.
Working closely with our QHSE Director, this is a broad, hands-on role combining established quality and compliance responsibilities with a strong focus on providing competent, practical day-to-day Health & Safety support to our operational teams.
You will work across our business, engaging with Manufacturing, Warehousing, Sales, Product Management, suppliers, customers and senior leaders to help ensure our standards are not only documented, but understood and applied.
What you will be doing
You will provide practical H&S guidance to managers and employees, conduct and review risk assessments and method statements, investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings, and help identify and address hazards before they become incidents.
Alongside this, you will support our wider QHSE framework, including internal and supplier audits, management systems and certification, KPI reporting, document control, non-conformance and root-cause investigations, supplier quality, customer and third-party audits, environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
Our existing management systems include ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with exposure to additional standards including ISO 13485 and IATF 16949. The original role also includes responsibilities around supplier evaluation, FAIRs and product regulatory compliance.
What we are looking for
Importantly, this isn't a purely Quality-focused position. We're looking for someone who can bring credible, practical Health & Safety capability into an operational environment.
You will need
-
A recognised Health & Safety qualification. Ideally NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
-
Demonstrable practical H&S experience within an operational environment, ideally electronics, distribution, warehousing or manufacturing
-
Experience undertaking workplace risk assessments and investigating incidents and near misses
-
Experience implementing and following through corrective and preventative actions
-
Confidence delivering H&S briefings, toolbox talks and practical advice to managers and employees
-
Internal and/or supplier auditing experience
-
Experience working with quality and/or environmental management systems
-
The confidence to constructively challenge unsafe practices and influence colleagues at different levels
Experience of ISO 9001, AS9100D, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001, together with NCR/8D, supplier quality and customer/third-party audits, would be advantageous.
Why join us?
You will have the opportunity to work across a varied technical business where QHSE has genuine operational importance. This is an opportunity to influence how we work, strengthen our safety culture and contribute to the continuous improvement of standards across Solsta.
Interested in combining your Quality experience with practical Health & Safety expertise? We would love to hear from you.
