We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet organisational guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff and trainees, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Ensure all ingredients and supplies are prepared, stored, and utilised efficiently
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and food safety procedures within the kitchen
- Support the team during service times by serving dishes promptly and assisting with customer requests when necessary
- Participate in stock control, inventory checks, and ordering supplies as required
Skills
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with supervising experience preferred
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate colleagues under pressure
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of culinary techniques across various cuisines is desirable
- Experience in serving customers or supporting front-of-house operations is advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
