Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Care Assistant to join our team two nights per week. This vital role involves providing attentive support to residents during the night, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. You will be responsible for monitoring residents, assisting with personal care needs, and responding promptly to any emergencies or requests. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives while working in a supportive and friendly environment.
Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any calls for assistance or emergencies.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, or medication as per care plans.
- Conduct regular checks on the environment to maintain a safe and clean living space.
- Complete detailed record-keeping of overnight activities, incidents, and care provided.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through respectful communication and reassurance.
- Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including safeguarding procedures.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents and team members.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining vigilance.
- Good IT skills for completing documentation and updating care plans accurately.
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is preferred but not essential; training will be provided if needed.
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent observation skills to identify residents' needs quickly.
Shift Pattern
- 20:00 – 08:00 - TWO nights per week - nights given on a monthly basis
Night Care Assistant Salary & Benefits
✅ £168.00 per shift (Monday–Thursday)
✅ £174.00 per shift (Friday–Sunday)
✅ 168 hours annual leave per year
