Overview
Evolve HES is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of energy efficiency retrofit works on residential properties across the Newport region, working on the Monoway (Hedyn) project. The successful candidate will have proven experience managing retrofit installations, with particular expertise in External Wall Insulation (EWI), roofing, and structural repair works. They will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with PAS 2030 standards, project specifications, and current health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
The Site Manager will take day-to-day responsibility for managing and coordinating all site activities across assigned retrofit schemes. This includes supervising subcontractors to ensure works are completed on time, to the required quality standards, and in accordance with project specifications and PAS 2030 requirements.
The role involves carrying out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, while liaising closely with Project Managers, clients, suppliers, and tenants to maintain smooth site operations and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project.
The Site Manager will maintain accurate records of site progress, issues, and project variations, while managing deliveries, site logistics, and the safe storage of materials. They will coordinate toolbox talks, risk assessments, method statements, site inductions, and safety briefings for all operatives and visitors to ensure a safe working environment.
A key responsibility of the role is to identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to minimise delays, provide regular progress updates, and escalate any risks or programme concerns to the Project Manager where necessary.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing site operations within energy retrofit projects and possess a strong understanding of energy efficiency measures, particularly External Wall Insulation (EWI). A sound knowledge of PAS 2030 standards and compliance requirements is essential.
Applicants must hold a valid SMSTS qualification, First Aid at Work certification, and a full UK driving licence, with the flexibility to travel between sites as required. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. Previous experience working with local authorities or social housing providers is desirable.
