Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mix and match paints accurately to achieve the desired color and finish.
- Operate spray guns, air compressors, and other power tools safely and efficiently to apply primer, base coats, and clear coats.
- Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections, touch up as needed, and perform sanding or polishing to achieve a smooth finish.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including wearing protective gear and handling hazardous materials responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicles or parts when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and painting processes.
- Experience using hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking equipment.
- Proficiency with power tools including spray guns, air compressors, and polishing machines.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or components.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Prior experience in automotive painting or body shop environments is preferred but not mandatory.
