Job Title: Multi Trader / Handyman – HMP (Prison Estate)
Location: HMP Pentonville, N7 8TT
Rate: £145 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Weekend Hours: 07:00am – 15:00pm (paid at x1.5 rate)
Job Type: Full-time / Contract
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable Multi Trader / Handyman to join our team working within the prison estate at HMP Pentonville. This role is more suited to a handyman or labourer-level candidate, carrying out general maintenance and support tasks to ensure the facility remains safe and operational.
This is a stable, long-term opportunity with consistent weekday hours, with additional weekend work available.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and basic multi-trade works across the site
- Assist with tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating, and general labouring duties
- Support reactive maintenance and day-to-day upkeep
- Check and maintain aspirators as required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a good standard
- Follow all site security procedures and regulations
- Complete basic job documentation where required
Requirements
- Experience in a handyman, labourer, or general maintenance role
- Basic multi-trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, decorating, etc.)
- Willingness to carry out a variety of tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to pass enhanced prison security clearance
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
