RG Consultancy are working with a successful and growing manufacturing business looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager. This is a varied role offering a blend of management accounting, operational finance and team supervision within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function while providing accurate financial information to aid business performance and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the smooth running of the finance department

Supervising and mentoring members of the accounts team

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

Producing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
-
Analysing manufacturing costs, margins and operational performance
-
Supporting stock accounting, stock reconciliations and periodic stock counts
-
Maintaining accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
-
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
-
Preparing payroll information for submission to an outsourced provider
-
Completing VAT returns
-
Managing cashbook transactions, payments and receipts
-
Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving discrepancies
-
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance controls and efficiencies

Working closely with production and operational teams to provide financial support and insight
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance position, ideally within manufacturing

Strong understanding of stock accounting and inventory controls

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems

The ability to analyse data and communicate findings effectively

A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving

Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business

A team-focused attitude with the confidence to work independently when required
