We are looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our team at our newly established children’s home in Brighton.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs in a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker you will play a vital role in helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills while ensuring they feel safe, supported and valued.
This role operates within a structured rota designed to promote consistency and strong relationships with the young people in our care.
About the Role
As part of our residential care team, you will provide day-to-day care, supervision and support to children and young people living in the home.
You will work closely with colleagues to create a positive home environment and help young people engage with education, activities and personal development.
The role involves working shifts patterns as part of a structured rota. This approach supports consistency for children and allows staff to build stronger relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Young People
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Provide day-to-day care, support and supervision within the home
- Support young people with routines including meals, education and activities
- Encourage independence and development of life skills
- Support young people to attend school, appointments and community activities
Creating a Positive Home Environment
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and structured home environment
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Support young people with daily living tasks and responsibilities
Safeguarding and Record Keeping
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the welfare of young people is always prioritised
- Record daily activities, incidents and observations accurately
- Work in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and organisational policies
Team Working
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent care
- Participate in team meetings, training and supervision sessions
- Communicate effectively with managers and external professionals where required

Essential Requirements
- Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and shift work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development
Desirable
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
- Experience within residential care, youth work or social care
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
