Twilight Hours - 8pm - Midnight

Join our dedicated care team as a Care Assistant - Twilight, where your compassionate support will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives during the evening hours. This role offers an energizing opportunity to provide essential care and companionship in a warm, welcoming environment. You will assist residents with daily activities, ensure their safety, and support their individual care plans, all while fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere. Your commitment will help create a comfortable, secure space where residents feel valued and cared for during the twilight hours.
Duties
- Taking special responsibility for individual or groups of residents.
- Assisting with all aspects of resident’s personal care. This will include bathing, dressing, feeding etc. as appropriate and with bed making, room tidying and clothing.
- The motivation and supervision of residents in daytime and social activities both within and outside of the home.
- Taking residents on outings and holidays in the Care Home’s Car / Minibus and on public transport.
- Assisting residents with their personal shopping.
- Assisting with housework and domestic related tasks.
- Under the direction of the management, escort the residents to the Doctor, Hospital, Dentist, Chiropodist etc., for routine matters and appointments.
- Care for the residents who may be temporarily unwell.
- Caring for service users who are dying and supporting their families, friends etc through the grieving process.
- Assisting in giving stimulation to resident by talking to them and helping them to continue with any activities and hobbies in the home.
- Answer requests for assistance, the door and the telephone.
- Make visitors welcome and give refreshments and any assistance they may require. Also check visitors’ identification.
- Assist in the preparation of meals and help in the kitchen when necessary. Lay tables and trays, serve meals, wash up, clear and tidy the dining room.
- Check, repair and launder residents clothing.
- Read and write reports, take part in staff and residents meeting, attend any training sessions when requested, working as part of a team and to cover for each other in times of need.
- To maintain as close as possible liaison with residents, families and friends.
- All staff are required to be familiar with and promote good standards of health and safety and fire precautions and prevention.
- To comply with all legislation as required by Health & Safety Executive / Social Services, Care Quality Commission (CQC) and any other professional bodies.
- To undertake training as necessary to maintain continuous professional development in line with The Code of Conduct – Skills for Care.
- Any other duties that may reasonably fall within the purview of this post
- Use IT systems to update care records accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is current and completed.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of creating and following individual care plans to meet residents’ specific needs
- Proficiency in English for effective communication with residents and team members
- Basic IT skills for updating electronic records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- A caring attitude combined with energy and enthusiasm to deliver high-quality twilight care

Pay: £12.71-£12.79 per hour
