Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bricklayer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, superstructures using bricks, stones, blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will contribute to building durable and aesthetically pleasing structures that meet project specifications ,safety standards and NHBC regulations . This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on residential developments, with a focus on quality craftsmanship and efficiency.
Duties
- Measure and mark guidelines to ensure precise placement of bricks and stones according to blueprints and project plans
- Mix mortar or other adhesives to secure bricks and stones effectively
- Lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry units with accuracy and attention to detail
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to shape and position materials correctly
- Operate power tools including saws, drills, and grinders safely and efficiently
- Perform repairs or restorations on existing structures by removing damaged materials and replacing them with new ones
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution
Skills
- Proficiency in bricklaying techniques and masonry practices with a keen eye for detail
- Skilled in the use of hand tools necessary for cutting, shaping, and laying bricks or stones
- Experience operating power tools safely in a construction environment
- Knowledge of roofing principles relevant to masonry work when applicable
- Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, or technical drawings accurately
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and masonry work
- Basic carpentry skills are a plus for framing or structural support tasks; welding knowledge is beneficial for metal reinforcement work
