We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our Islamic clothing and perfume store.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the shop. The role involves serving customers, making sales, maintaining stock, keeping the shop and stockroom organised, and assisting with deliveries and stock handling.
You will be selling a range of Islamic clothing, perfumes and fragrances, and other store products.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service
- Understand customers' needs and recommend suitable products
- Assist customers with choosing Islamic clothing, perfumes, fragrances, and other products
- Confidently promote products and make sales
- Answer questions about products, sizes, fragrances, prices, and availability
- Process customer purchases and handle payments accurately
- Help create a welcoming and professional shopping environment
Stock Management
- Regularly check stock levels and identify products that need replenishing
- Maintain accurate and organised stock
- Receive, unpack, check, and organise new deliveries
- Check incoming stock for quantities and any visible damage
- Replenish stock on the shop floor when required
- Ensure products are correctly stored and easy to locate
- Assist with stock counts and regular stock checks
- Report low-stock, missing, damaged, or incorrect items to management
- Keep shelves, displays, and stock areas organised and well presented
Stockroom & General Duties
- Keep the stockroom clean, tidy, and organised at all times
- Organise boxes, clothing, perfumes, packaging, and other stock efficiently
- Move and lift boxes of stock safely when receiving deliveries or replenishing stock
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
- Keep the shop floor, storage areas, and other working areas clean and tidy
- Dispose of packaging and rubbish appropriately
- Assist with general shop duties as required
- Follow company procedures for stock handling and workplace safety

- Previous retail or sales experience is preferred but not essential
- Experience in clothing, perfumes, fragrances, or Islamic products would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Important Requirements
This is a hands-on retail role. The successful candidate should be comfortable with both customer-facing sales and practical shop duties, including checking and organising stock, receiving deliveries, lifting and moving boxes, replenishing products, and maintaining a clean and tidy stockroom.
