Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our professional automotive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet all safety and emissions standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and test results
- Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical problems using specialised equipment
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
- Heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as required during repair processes
Experience
- Proven experience as a mechanic with knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics
- Previous MOT testing experience is highly desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or maintenance tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and compliance standards
- A valid MOT tester certification or willingness to undertake certification if not already held
