The Health and Adult Services Leadership Support team is looking for a well-organised, self-motivated individual to provide support to one of the Assistant Directors for Adult Social Care.
The role offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge and gain an insight into the provision of adult social care. You will work with colleagues and members at every level within the organisation and with external customers and partners.
The Leadership Support Team provides a vital personal assistant role and administrative support to the senior leaders of the council and is part of the larger Business Support Service.
You will be the key point of contact for the Assistant Director and carry out a wide range of duties including:
- Diary management and coordination of meetings with internal and external partners.
- Handling correspondence and communication. Monitoring multiple email accounts.
- Preparing agendas, taking minutes and ensuring timely follow up actions.
- Aiding the production of reports, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Maintaining accurate records and managing confidential information with discretion.
- Supporting workshops and events.
- Working to tight deadlines.
- Preparing and circulating articles for the weekly Adult Social Care Bulletin.

- A flexible approach, excellent customer service skills and a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience of managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Using a wide range of IT packages and experience working in a busy environment.
