Vehicle Technician
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: £32,000 – £55,000 (DOE & experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (overtime available)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our busy service department in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of vehicles
- Diagnose faults using manufacturer diagnostic tools
- Perform MOT repairs and pre-delivery inspections (where applicable)
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate job cards, records, and reporting
- Assist with workshop cleanliness, organisation, and compliance
- Work efficiently to achieve workshop KPIs and targets
- Support apprentices and junior technicians as required
About You
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or qualified automotive engineer
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Experience with manufacturer diagnostic systems (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
