Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, practical skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the successful completion of outdoor tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in horticulture, gardening, and construction environments.
Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, and turf care
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various tasks
- Support excavation activities using equipment such as excavators under supervision
- Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper installation and functioning
- Perform general maintenance tasks on outdoor sites, including cleaning and repairs
- Assist with construction-related activities such as groundwork preparation and material handling
- Support gardening and horticultural activities to promote healthy plant growth
- Ensure all work areas are kept safe, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Skills
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain power tools and small machinery
- Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and gardening tasks
- Ability to operate an excavator or similar equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures in outdoor environments
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in physically demanding conditions
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in executing assigned tasks
