Sussex / Brighton & Hove

Driving Licence Required
About the Role
Craig Construction Services Ltd are looking for an experienced Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) to support our growing portfolio of social housing, refurbishment and planned maintenance projects across Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex area.
This is a part-time, site-based role working directly with residents, our site teams and client representatives.
We are looking for someone who is confident, resilient and comfortable dealing with a wide range of people and situations. Many of our projects are undertaken within occupied homes and communal areas, so strong communication, organisation and the ability to manage difficult or sensitive conversations are essential.
Previous experience working within social housing, local authority housing, planned maintenance or occupied refurbishment projects is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between residents, CCS site teams and the client.
- Introduce CCS and explain upcoming works to residents before work starts.
- Deliver advance notices of works and keep residents informed of programmes, appointments and any changes.
- Arrange and coordinate access to occupied properties.
- Maintain regular communication with residents throughout the works.
- Identify vulnerable residents or residents requiring additional support and ensure this information is communicated appropriately to the project team.
- Manage resident concerns, complaints and difficult conversations calmly and professionally.
- Work with Site Managers and Supervisors to resolve resident-related issues quickly.
- Provide advance notice of noisy, disruptive or access-restricting works.
- Ensure safe access to homes and communal areas is maintained wherever possible.
- Record resident communications, appointments, issues and actions.
- Carry out resident satisfaction checks following completion of works.
- Attend client or project meetings where resident liaison matters need to be discussed.
- Assist the project team with maintaining strong resident satisfaction and social value performance.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as an RLO, Tenant Liaison Officer or similar resident-facing role.
- Has experience working within social housing or occupied residential properties.
- Is confident dealing with challenging residents and difficult situations.
- Can be firm when required while remaining professional and respectful.
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Is organised and able to manage appointments and communications across several properties or projects.
- Is comfortable working independently and making decisions when required.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality when dealing with vulnerable residents and personal information.
- Is comfortable working closely with construction site teams.
- Has basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience working directly with local authorities or housing associations would be a significant advantage.
Requirements
- Previous social housing / resident liaison experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel between projects across Brighton & Hove and Sussex.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and presentable manner.
A CSCS card and previous construction industry experience would be advantageous but are not essential for the right person.
Working Arrangements
This is a part-time position, with working days and hours to be agreed.
The role will predominantly be based across our live projects in Brighton & Hove and Sussex rather than being permanently office based.
There may be some flexibility around working days depending on project requirements.
