About the Role
As a Finance Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of both the Sales and Purchase Ledger functions. You'll be responsible for a variety of finance administration tasks, helping to ensure customer accounts, supplier records, and financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, you'll be part of a supportive team where accuracy, organisation, and excellent customer service are essential.
Key responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Credit Control
- Prepare and process sales invoices and credit notes.
- Maintain customer sales contracts for new and existing accounts, including contract renewals.
- Process credit card payments, direct debit forms, and direct debit notifications.
- Complete daily bank reconciliations.
- Send customer statements and respond to account queries via email.
- Contact customers by telephone to manage overdue accounts and support credit control activities.
Purchase Ledger
- Check and process supplier invoices using Microsoft Dynamics.
- Send invoices through the approval process.
- Approve engineer invoices.
- Reconcile supplier and installer statements.
- Request and process purchase credit notes.
- Prepare and issue remittance advice notices.
- Maintain accurate supplier and installer account information.
General Duties
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Manage a high volume of calls and emails professionally and efficiently.
- Support the wider finance team with additional administrative and finance tasks as required.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and enjoys working with numbers and processes. You'll have excellent attention to detail and be able to manage your workload effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
You'll ideally have:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Pay: £26,227.50-£27,500.00 per year
