Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver exceptional service. The Kitchen Porter will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen areas are hygienic, well-stocked, and prepared for daily operations, contributing to a smooth and professional working environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise all kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Support the organisation and restocking of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Dispose of waste materials responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is stored correctly after use and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with setting up dining areas or service stations as required for service periods.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and basic cleaning procedures is desirable.
- Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends if required.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn about culinary operations and hospitality standards.

Pay: £8.50-£13.00 per hour
