Job purpose
To support me to continue to develop my skills, learn new things and to keep me safe. To support both at home and out in the community and aid in continuing daily routines.
About me
I am a 5-year-old boy, and everyone tells me that I am a little superstar! I am a cheeky, funny, loving and determined young man who loves music. My favourite activities are playing with musical instruments, people singing to me and/or making silly noises. I love light-up, noisy toys as well as playing outside on my swing. I also enjoy being read stories. I have lots of animals, including cats and dogs- and when I choose to, I like to watch and interact with them. I am a very strong-willed little boy who faces challenges in my life as I have complex medical and physical needs. This impacts my ability to do things for myself, so I rely on others. However, it does not impact my ability to think, feel and make choices. I also have a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan in place (PEEP).
All training will be provided- although attitude and approach to the role is key over experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Personal care needs
· Medication Administration (PEG in situ)
· Feeds through PEG
· Management of health conditions
· Responsive in relation to urgent medical situations
· Suction when needed
· Oxygen management when needed
· Physio exercises
· Moving and positioning
· Able to use moving and assisting equipment and aids
· Support and encourage communication needs and development
· Supporting me out in the community
· Offering and supporting choices
· Driver able to drive a large vehicle (WAV vehicle)

Desirable Criteria
· Experience in a similar role
· Previous experience with Epilepsy, rescue medication and peg use
Summary terms and conditions
· Hours, days and times of work: 0-hour contract. After school hours, weekends and school holidays.
· Pay rate: £14.00 per hour
· Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
· Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
· Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
· Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme, but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
