About the Role:
At Secure Power Systems and Engineering, reliable electrical infrastructure is essential to the success of every project we deliver. We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer who can coordinate electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities across commercial and industrial power projects.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, technicians, and internal project teams to ensure electrical works are delivered safely, accurately, and according to agreed schedules and technical requirements. You will support projects involving backup power systems, uninterrupted power supplies, battery equipment, control systems, electrical distribution, and associated infrastructure.
This mid level position is suitable for an electrical engineering professional who can combine technical knowledge with strong project coordination and problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Project Coordination:
Coordinate electrical engineering activities from initial planning through installation, testing, commissioning, and project completion.
Technical Design Review:
Review electrical drawings, single line diagrams, equipment specifications, cable schedules, load calculations, and technical documentation.
Project Planning:
Support the preparation of project programmes, delivery schedules, resource plans, and technical work packages.
Installation Support:
Work with site teams and contractors to ensure electrical equipment is installed correctly and in accordance with approved designs.
Testing and Commissioning:
Coordinate equipment testing, inspection, fault resolution, system energisation, and final commissioning activities.
Supplier Management:
Communicate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical specifications, quotations, lead times, and delivery requirements.
Contractor Coordination:
Monitor contractor activities, clarify technical requirements, and ensure agreed quality and safety standards are maintained.
Site Inspections:
Carry out site visits to review progress, identify technical issues, and confirm that installations meet project requirements.
Risk Management:
Identify electrical, operational, scheduling, and technical risks and support the implementation of practical mitigation measures.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate project records, design revisions, technical submissions, test certificates, commissioning documents, and handover files.
Budget Monitoring:
Support project cost tracking, review technical variations, and assist with controlling expenditure against approved budgets.
Client Communication:
Provide clear project updates, respond to technical enquiries, and support meetings with clients and other project stakeholders.
Compliance:
Ensure electrical activities comply with relevant regulations, technical standards, company procedures, and project specifications.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve project planning, installation methods, documentation, quality, and technical delivery.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Previous experience in electrical engineering, power systems, building services, industrial installations, technical project delivery, or a related field.
Education:
A degree, higher national qualification, or equivalent professional experience in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
Technical Knowledge:
Good understanding of electrical distribution systems, control equipment, backup power systems, testing procedures, and installation practices.
Project Experience:
Experience coordinating technical projects, site activities, contractors, suppliers, schedules, and project documentation.
Design Understanding:
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and engineering calculations.
Problem Solving:
Able to investigate technical issues, assess available options, and recommend practical and safe solutions.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, technicians, contractors, and suppliers.
Organisation:
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage several project activities and deadlines.
Attention to Detail:
A careful and accurate approach to technical reviews, project records, testing documentation, and compliance requirements.
Commercial Awareness:
An understanding of project costs, technical variations, supplier pricing, and the financial impact of engineering decisions.

Pay: £2,900.00-£3,200.00 per month
