Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated multi drop Self Employed Contractor to join our team. You must have your own vehicle (van). The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, utilising their driving skills and experience in warehouse operations. This role offers flexibility and independence, suitable for individuals with a strong work ethic and excellent organisational abilities. The successful applicant will operate as an autonomous contractor, managing their own schedule while maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct timely deliveries of goods to various locations, ensuring accuracy and safety throughout the process
- Operate commercial vehicles, including lorries or vans, in compliance with all road safety regulations
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Organise daily routes efficiently to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption
- Adhere to health and safety standards at all times during operations
- Manage your own schedule, ensuring punctuality and reliability in all deliveries
Skills
- Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record
- Valid driver’s licence or equivalent qualification for commercial driving
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Excellent organisational skills to plan routes and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently without supervision
