About Aurelia Homes
Aurelia Homes is a premium housekeeping membership company serving carefully selected private homes across Wimbledon and surrounding South West London. Our purpose is to give members complete peace of mind at home through discreet, thoughtful and consistently exacting household care.
The opportunity
We are inviting an exceptional self-employed Senior Housekeeper to become Aurelia's founding Service Partner. This is suited to an experienced professional who wants flexible, ad hoc assignments while contributing to the early delivery of a standards-led household service.
You will be offered assignments as members join Aurelia. You are free to accept or decline each offer. Once accepted, you will take responsibility for delivering the agreed scope safely, discreetly and to the required outcome, following the member's Personalised Home Care Plan and the Aurelia Standard.
This opportunity is for someone who sees the details others miss: the precise finish of a room, the correct care of a delicate surface, beautifully presented linen, a securely closed home and the quiet reassurance created by dependable service.
How the contractor arrangement works
Aurelia does not guarantee any minimum number or frequency of assignments, and the Service Partner is not obliged to accept work offered.
Each assignment will be offered with the location, proposed date and time window, expected duration, service scope, access requirements and fee basis. The Service Partner confirms whether they wish to accept it.
The Service Partner may provide services to other households, agencies or businesses, organises their own availability and remains responsible for tax, National Insurance, invoicing, business records and appropriate insurance.
Aurelia defines the member-approved scope, required outcomes, property restrictions, authorised products and safety or security requirements. Within those boundaries, the Service Partner is responsible for organising and performing the work professionally.
A suitably experienced and fully vetted substitute may be proposed in accordance with the contractor agreement. Any substitute must satisfy Aurelia's reference, security, insurance and quality requirements before entering a member home.
There is no entitlement to employee benefits, including paid holiday, sick pay, pension contributions or notice pay, unless the law determines otherwise from the actual working arrangement.
What you will deliver
Exceptional whole-home housekeeping and presentation in accordance with the agreed assignment and each member's Personalised Home Care Plan.
Methodical care of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and other authorised household spaces, with disciplined attention to finish and presentation.
Bed making and presentation; agreed laundry, ironing, linen care and linen-cupboard or guest-room preparation.
Correct care of natural stone, marble, timber, metals, glass, upholstery, delicate fabrics and other high-value finishes, using only authorised products and safe methods.
An exacting Final Walkthrough, concise records of work completed and prompt factual reporting of damage, defects, hazards, low supplies or follow-up needs.
Careful protection of furniture, artwork, electronics, possessions, keys, alarm details, access codes and all private information.
Compliance with product instructions, COSHH controls, manual-handling guidance, lone-working arrangements and all applicable health-and-safety requirements.
Practical feedback that helps Aurelia refine its service standards, Home Care Plans and quality controls during the founding stage.
The Aurelia service standard
Work calmly, methodically and with exceptional attention to detail; quality and protection of the home take priority over rushing.
Pause, check and ask whenever a surface, fabric, care label, product or member instruction is unfamiliar or uncertain.
Communicate early if an accepted assignment is at risk, an instruction is unclear or the agreed scope cannot be completed safely within the expected time.
Report any damage, breakage, security issue or service concern immediately, honestly and factually.
Maintain absolute discretion. Do not photograph, discuss or share any member, property, schedule, possession or access arrangement unless expressly authorised for a legitimate business purpose.
Preserve warm but clear professional boundaries and refer changes to service scope, complaints, payments or membership questions to Aurelia.
What we are looking for
Essential
Substantial, demonstrable hands-on housekeeping experience gained in private residences, five-star hospitality, luxury serviced residences or another comparably exacting environment.
Confident knowledge of products, surfaces, finishes, fabrics, laundry and linen care, together with the judgement to stop and seek guidance rather than risk damage.
A strong record of reliability, punctuality, honesty, discretion and respectful conduct in private environments.
The ability to work independently, plan accepted assignments, manage time calmly and complete accurate service records.
Warm, polished communication and the ability to maintain professional boundaries with members, visitors, suppliers and Aurelia.
Reliable travel between homes across the stated South West London service area.
The legal right to provide services in the UK and two satisfactory, independently verifiable professional references.
A satisfactory Basic DBS check before the first member-home assignment.
Genuine self-employed status, the ability to issue invoices and appropriate public liability insurance in place before commencing assignments.
Desirable
Previous experience as a Senior Housekeeper, Head Housekeeper or trusted sole housekeeper in a high-value private home.
Experience coaching others or contributing to service checklists and repeatable quality standards.
Working knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, lone working, incident reporting or first aid.
A full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle where this supports efficient travel between assignments.
Scope of services
This opportunity focuses on professional housekeeping and home presentation. It does not include childcare, personal care, regulated care, cooking or routine pet care. Any occasional request outside the standard scope must be discussed and agreed in advance and must remain safe, lawful, insured and appropriate.
Selection and onboarding
Application review and a 20–30 minute telephone conversation.
Structured interview focused on judgement, trust, technical knowledge, member-home conduct and contractor expectations.
Paid practical assessment in a staged or otherwise appropriate non-client setting, paid at the £24 hourly equivalent.
Verification of identity, right to provide services in the UK, two professional references, Basic DBS outcome, public liability insurance and self-employed business details.
Written contractor agreement, confidentiality and data-protection commitments, key and access controls, safety induction and assignment briefing before any member-home work.
