Cheese Production Operator (part-time)
Location: Lactalis UK & Ireland, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, DG9 7DA
Working Hours: Part-Time - Minimum 1,000 Hours Annually
About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Cheese Production Operator at the Caledonian Cheese Company in Stranraer. This part-time role involves working within our cheese production process, operating machinery, and ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and food hygiene standards. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team producing award-winning cheeses in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate machinery and monitor cheese production processes
· Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality
· Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement
· Ensure accurate documentation and reporting
· Shift and some weekend work involved, 12-hour shifts starting at 06:00 and 18:00.
What We’re Looking For
· Experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
· Awareness of health & safety and food hygiene standards
· Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
· Good timekeeping and attention to detail
· Exposure to Lean/Continuous Improvement practices (advantageous)

- Minimum 1,000 guaranteed hours annually, with potential for additional hours up to full-time (1,785 hours)
