Children's Support Worker-Therapeutic Residential Home
Location: NN9, Wellingborough
Salary: £28,000–£33,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
Looking for a job that really makes a difference?
We're looking for caring, reliable people to join our team at our 3-bed therapeutic children's home in NN9, Wellingborough.
Our home supports children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs using a therapeutic, relationship-based approach. We believe that positive, consistent relationships help young people feel safe, build trust, and move forward with confidence.
Every day is different. One day you might be helping with homework, cooking dinner together or taking a young person out for an activity. Another day you could be supporting them through a difficult moment, celebrating a personal achievement, or simply being the trusted adult they need. It's challenging at times, but incredibly rewarding.
What you'll be doing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Creating a safe, caring and nurturing home environment.
- Supporting young people with daily routines, education, hobbies and developing independence.
- Using a therapeutic approach to support emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes.
- Encouraging positive behaviour through patience, understanding and consistency.
- Working closely with a supportive team to help every young person achieve their goals.
- Keeping accurate records and always promoting the safety and wellbeing of the children in your care.
What we're looking for
We're looking for people who genuinely care and want to make a difference.
You'll be:
- Compassionate and patient.
- Calm under pressure.
- Resilient and positive.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Committed to helping children and young people achieve their potential.
Experience in residential childcare, support work, youth work, education or care is welcome, but just as important is the right attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
A full UK driving licence is preferred.
What we offer
- Salary of £28,000-£33,000 per year.
- A supportive and approachable management team.
- Ongoing training and opportunities for career progression.
- Support to gain recognised childcare qualifications.
- A welcoming, well-resourced 3-bed therapeutic home.
- The opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference in a young person's life.
