Nursery Manager – Millie's House Nursery & Pre-School, Fulham Reach (W6)
Millie's House is recruiting an experienced Nursery Manager to lead our beautiful Fulham Reach setting in West London. Part of a well-established, privately owned nursery group, this 92-place nursery cares for children from three months to five years across five bright, spacious rooms, each with its own dedicated garden area. Housed in a modern, purpose-built building with large windows that flood the rooms with natural light, the nursery sits on Distillery Lane directly in front of Frank Banfield Park, just a few minutes' walk from Hammersmith station.
About the role
As Nursery Manager you will hold day-to-day leadership of the setting, taking full accountability for the safety, wellbeing, learning and development of every child in your care. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will:
- Lead, coach and inspire a team of practitioners, room leaders and support staff, creating a culture where colleagues feel supported, valued and stretched
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding, welfare and statutory EYFS requirements are met and exceeded
- Drive the quality of education and care across all five rooms, working with room leaders to deliver an engaging, play-based curriculum that develops sensory awareness, independence, communication and language
- Take full responsibility for Ofsted readiness, building on our Good judgement with a clear ambition to achieve and sustain an Outstanding rating
- Manage occupancy, fees, budgets and KPIs, working closely with the operations team
- Build warm, trusted relationships with parents and carers, acting as the public face of the nursery
- Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing professional development for the team
- Make the most of our private garden and indoor-outdoor flow to give children plenty of room to explore, play and connect with nature
About you
You'll be a confident, hands-on leader who genuinely loves Early Years and brings warmth as well as rigour to the role. We're looking for:
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years as a minimum, with Level 5, EYTS, EYPS or QTS highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or Head of a comparable setting (multi-room, 60+ places preferred)
- Strong, current working knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted framework and safeguarding legislation
- A track record of leading teams through inspection and of improving practice room by room
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to partner with discerning London parents
- Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Lead and Food Hygiene training (or willingness to refresh on appointment)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
Pay: Up to £55,000.00 per year
