Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and restaurant standards.
- Oversee all aspects of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste.
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere focused on continuous improvement.
- Ensure all food served meets quality standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and optimise guest satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and presentation skills.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Experience in culinary innovation and menu development is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
