As an SEN Supply Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. You'll work across specialist settings and mainstream schools with additional learning needs (ALN) provision, providing tailored support to pupils while working closely with teachers and support staff.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assisting children with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual learning styles and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where appropriate.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and using effective behaviour management strategies to support learning.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, communication skills and independence throughout the school day.
- Preparing learning resources and assisting with classroom organisation.
- Recording pupil progress and sharing observations with teachers and the school's ALNCo/SENDCo.
- Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes and educational activities to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver high-quality support.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a school, childcare, care, coaching or similar setting.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs or complex learning needs is advantageous.
